From European Craft Brand to US Market Entry, Without Cutting Corners

Our client is the founder of a premium craft wellness brand with roots in Europe. From an artisan, small-batch philosophy, she built a loyal following around a simple promise: products made entirely from natural ingredients, nothing artificial, nothing refined, nothing that shouldn’t be there.

After years of growth at home, she made a bold decision, to expand into the United States, and to do it properly, with the certifications, production partners, and supply chain the US market demands. That decision brought her to Helix.

“We made a conscious decision not to position this as a fast-launch initiative, but rather to build a sustainable business with uncompromising standards of quality.”
The founder (name withheld under NDA)

This wasn’t a single order. It was a supply chain build.

The client didn’t arrive with a shopping list. She had a vision, a set of non-negotiable standards, and a complex web of things that had to come together at once: certified organic ingredients sourced responsibly, custom branded packaging produced to spec, a private-label manufacturing partner, and a certification landscape most suppliers had never navigated.

In numbers, the project covered more than six ingredient categories sourced and specified from scratch, custom branded retail packaging produced to print-proof approval, and two distinct product lines, chocolate-based confectionery and roasted grain infusions, each with its own profile, packaging, and regulatory considerations.

Every ingredient evaluated. Every supplier verified.

At the core of this brand is ingredient integrity, and the founder does not compromise on what goes into her products, so Helix couldn’t either. For each category, from cacao derivatives to nut-based components to plant-based sweeteners, we ran full supplier identification, factory audits, sample ordering, and quality evaluation before any commitment.

Specifications were documented for every ingredient, creating a traceable chain of custody from supplier to production. Nothing was sourced on trust alone.

Branded, produced, and approved to spec

For this brand, packaging is part of the product, not an afterthought. Clean design, honest materials, and precise production were requirements, not preferences. Helix managed the full packaging process: identifying manufacturers for custom retail formats, running the specification and print-proof approval, and coordinating orders across multiple packaging types, including flat retail pouches and branded display boxes.

The result is packaging that reflects what’s inside: considered, precise, and built to stand out on a US retail shelf.

The US market has high standards. We helped meet them.

A clean-label wellness product entering the US has to clear a certification landscape that is demanding by design. The client needed several certifications at once, across multiple product lines, and Helix coordinated them all in parallel.

USDA Organic

Full organic certification, including the Organic Handling Plan, Integrity Plan, Product Profile, Supplier Approval Program, and record-keeping compliance across all product lines.

FDA compliance

Nutrition facts panel preparation, FDA claims review, and labeling consultations to ensure full compliance with US food labeling regulations across all product variants.

Non-GMO

Non-GMO certification coordinated in parallel with the organic process, ensuring clean-label claims are fully substantiated across the product range.

Women-Owned Small Business

Support for WOSB and WBENC certification documentation, an important designation for distribution and procurement in the US market.

Across all four frameworks, Helix worked with the client and the certifying bodies to keep documentation correct, complete, and filed without delays that would hold up the launch.

We like complex. We solve it.

Most sourcing partners would have found this project uncomfortable. Multiple product categories. Multiple ingredient suppliers. Multiple certification bodies. Custom packaging. A founder who would not trade standards for speed.

It’s exactly what Helix was built for. We are not a supplier directory or a freight forwarder. We are a team that finds genuinely interesting problems to solve and treats every client’s standards as our own. The client came to us with a vision. She’s leaving with a supply chain, a certification package, and a product ready for one of the world’s most competitive markets.

“Projects like this remind us why we do what we do. The complexity isn’t the obstacle, it’s the point. Every detail we get right for a client is one more thing they don’t have to worry about.”
